Brad Kelley, the captain featured in the Discovery Channel reality series Bering Sea Gold, has pleaded guilty to felony assault. The charges stem from an incident in which Kelley physically assaulted the mother of one of his children in Alaska. According to TMZ, Kelley was arrested in February 2022 for the offense and has now been sentenced to four years in prison, three of which will be suspended.
Kelley, a self-made tobacco tycoon and a major landowner in the United States, is the 9th largest landowner in the country.
Details of the assault are still emerging and the incident remains under investigation. The sentencing outcome, however, highlights the severity of the crime and the consequences for engaging in violent behavior.
